Nik Alexander
My name is Nik Alexander and cannabis is my life. I have now been in this industry for over 25 years. I have been growing cannabis in home grown, small batch, craft grows for over 15 years. I also have several years of grow experience in commercial grows in Colorado. My love for the herb is palpable and is reflected in everything I do. Not only am I passionate about cannabis as a career, I am also extremely passionate about activism and philanthropy in the cannabis space.
Third Day Co-op Nonprofit
For the previous five and a half years before moving to the Chicago area I ran a cannabis nonprofit organization in Denver known as Third day co-op, our mission was to get cannabis medicine to those who need it most; focusing on supplying cannabis to less fortunate people as a state registered caregiver and teaching these patients how to grow for themselves so that they may become self-reliant. We took the time to do surveys with patients on what strains worked best for their ailments, helping us to further understand how cannabis works as medicine. The best part is that we never charged for our cannabis or services.
Reforming Cannabis Laws
I also acted as director of business development and board member of Denver NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. This is the organization spearheading legalization in the US and I’m proud to say I personally lobbied congress in Colorado to get bills passed that are now implemented as state law.
I decided to move back to the Midwest and into the greater Chicago area in order to continue my cannabis activism and I am active in the Cannabis Equity IL Coalition, I am currently lobbying congress as we speak personally in order to liberate cannabis consumers.
